In this mysterious world, everyone is granted a Book of Fate. These powerful books chronicle everything that is and will be about a person's life. But the sinister Chaos Tellers are rewriting people's destinies to include catastrophic events. The only ones who can stand against them are a select few who possess blank books of fate.

داستان در سرزمینی معروف به «قصه گویان» شکل می‌گیره. در هنگام تولد، تمامی ساکنین این دنیا یک «کتاب سرنوشت» دریافت می‌کنند که در آن سرنوشت آن‌ها و زندگیشان نوشته شده است. ولی قصه گویان سرکشی به نام هرج‌ومرج‌گو وجود دارند که بدون اطلاع افراد، اتفاق‌های بدی درون کتاب آن‌ها می‌نویسند. وظیفه کسانی که «کتاب خالی سرنوشت» دارند پیدا کردن هرج‌ومرج‌گویان و بازسازی دنیاست.
