همزمان با تقلای جامعه برای ترمیم زخم‌های جنگ، مبارزان تقویت‌شده‌ی سایبرنتیکی برای شهرت و ثروت می‌جنگند... یا در این راه می‌میرند.
قرن نوزدهم است و دنیا وارد عصر تجدیدحیات شده است، درحال بهبودیابی از شعله‌های ویرانگر جنگ. ورزش هنرهای رزمی مکانیکی همه‌ی کشورها را به جنب‌وجوش انداخته است. مبارزان تقویت‌شده‌ی سایبرنتیکی خونشان را به بخار و بدنشان را به ماشین‌های مبارزه تبدیل می‌کنند.
Levius جوان یکی از این مبارزان است، شدیدا مصمّم بر پیروزی، صرفا برای اینکه زنده بماند.
