In her Junior High years, the pitcher Yomi Takeda was not able to get very far in a cross-school baseball tournament. Since the catcher on her team wasn't at her level, she couldn't use her signature move, the Magic Throw, and eventually regretted not being able to use it. After Junior High, she decided to stop playing baseball and went to Shin Koshigaya High School, a school without a baseball club. There, she found her long lost childhood friend, Tamaki Yamazaki, who used to play catchball with her when they were kids. Tamaki also played baseball during her Junior High years as a catcher, and could even catch Yomi's Magic Throw! Their promise with each other during their childhood could now be fulfilled! یومی تاکدا در سال‌های راهنمایی‌اش نمی‌توانست در مسابقات بین‌مدرسه‌ای بیسبال مقام‌های خوبی کسب کند. از آنجایی که کچر تیمش سطح پایینی داشت، یومی نمی‌توانست از «پرتاب جادویی»‌اش استفاده کند. یومی بعد از دوران راهنمایی‌اش تصمیم گرفت تا دیگر بیسبال بازی نکند و به مدرسهٔ شین کوشیگایا، مدرسه‌ای که باشگاه بیسبال نداشت، برود. در آنجا، وی دوست‌دوران بچگی‌اش، تاماکی یامازاکی، را ملاقات می‌‌کند. یومی و تاماکی زمانی که بچه بودند با هم توپ بازی می‌کردند. یومی متوجه می‌شود که تاماکی هم در راهنمایی در پست کچر، بیسبال بازی می‌کرده و حتی می‌تواند «پرتاب جادویی» یومی را بگیرد! قولی که این دو در زمان کودکی به یکدیگر داده بودند حالا می‌تواند به واقعیت تبدیل شود. و اینجاست که داستان دخترانی که عاشق بیسبال هستند آغاز می‌شود!
